PostSubject: Coatliizhanian Race (Still working on this, had to sleep)   Sun Oct 11, 2009 2:02 am

While these are not a race indigenous to Midian, the Coatliizhanians have made it their business to scavenge the destruction, as well as become an open source of trading amongst the surviving races, on both sides of the argument. They are the sole peaceful link between the Earthlings and the Ornithian construct, not saying that either side really knows whom is trading with whom.

This particular race comes from Coatliizhan, a distant planet in the Wild Sector, named so because it has not yet been charted fully. The planet is a great deal warmer than Midian, and much of it is covered in rainforest land. However, extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, are not conducive to a Coatliizhanian, though if having to choose, one would choose extreme heat, because they would last longer in it.

There is little known about these 'snake-men' in general as they tend to be a more private race of people. There are some things well noted, however:

1. They are excellent warriors.
2. They mate for life.
3. They have a superior intellect which is often easily corrupted.
4. Much of their intelligence is genetic, in other words, learned through their DNA over thousands of years and is common knowledge amongst the race.
5. They must sustain their bodies with a great deal of protein, which is a weakness.
6. Extended exposure to extremely cold temperatures will slow them, then put them into a state of suspended animation, and then death.

When choosing to play one of these characters, one should understand the fine workings of the creature. This is not an emotional race, they have little to do with emotions and feelings, so to play an emo Co would definitely be against the nature of it. There are several racial features and abilities that as a player, you must choose from. If your character is fullblooded, you will be able to choose 5 of these, if your character is not fullblooded, then you will choose 3.

These features are:

1. Chameleon ability. (full bloods have the ability to all but disappear, however, this takes a lot of energy and cannot be sustained longer than 30 min)
2. Fast healing. (this is a general guideline, but questions should be asked of Tryst if need be)
a. Minor cuts and scrapes heal in less than 2 hours
b. Injuries that might require stitches or butterfly bandages, for example, will take between 24 and 36 hours
c. Minor surgeries will take between 48 and 72 hours
d. Broken bones:
1. Simple breaks, fractures will take between 4 and 5 days.
2. Serious breaks, shatters, etc will take between 5 and 8 days.
3. Venomous bite or scratch
4. Speed
5. Racial features (tail, appearance etc.)
Not all Coatliizhanians have the same appearance, as deep in their history, they too are a hybrid race. The more Coatl features they have (tails, full scales, eyes, forked tongue, fangs, etc.) the more revered they are in their society. When you choose this particular feature, you will be entitled to choose up to 3 racial features. To choose more than that, will require another feature slot.
6. Superior senses.
7. Superior strength or dex (to choose both means you use 2 feature slots.)
8. Superior intelligence.
9. Venom / Poison resist.
10.
